Galentine’s Hostel Takeover
February 13-16th, 2026
Celebrating Friendship in the Northwoods.
In an effort to create an intentional space for exploration and discovery, this weekend is for women and nonbinary folks.
Choose your own Adventure!
You get to make this weekend your own. If you want to curl up with a book or if you want to get outside with new and old friends, you get to. Since we assume there will be a wide variety of interests, we won’t be guiding adventures but we will provide recommendations, share tips and tricks, help you connect with adventure buddies (if desired) and help with logistics if needed!
Outdoor activities
Grand Marais is a great launching spot off spot for outdoor adventure.
Some activities you could choose may include:
Snowshoeing (or hiking) on the Superior Hiking Trail or in other areas of the Superior National Forest
Downhill skiing (Lutsen)
Visiting Judge C. R. Magney State Park or Cascade River State Park
Walking Artist Point in Grand Marais
Fat Biking
Let’s hope for snow!
Indoor activities
Maybe you need a break from the outside adventures to warm up and rest!
Some indoor activities could include:
Sleeping in or taking a nap
Supporting local establishments - there are fun coffee shops, art galleries, brewery/pubs, and more!
Booking yourself a sauna session with Sisu and Löyly
Crafting or doing art (some supplies included - bring your own if you want)!
Playing board games or doing a puzzle
Reading (maybe picking up a new book at Drury Lane Books!)
Investment for the weekend
We encourage you to think of this weekend as an investment in yourself and your well-being.
We do our best to keep this weekend affordable. The regular weekend rate varies from $425 - $625 per person, depending on which type of room you choose. There are opportunities to receive scholarships or give to the scholarship fund, depending on your financial situation.
Please see the Galentines Hostel Takeover Overview and Policy Page for a complete breakdown of the weekend.
